Intermediate Welsh Speaker

The Community Playworker has 10 years experience working in the Scrapstore, collecting resources from the community, local businesses and across the UK.



One aspect of the Community Playworker position includes providing loose parts workshops with children and young people of all abilities. Another duty of the playwork aspect of the role has been to support the Play On The Yard project, running lunchtime loose parts play sessions in Bryn Hafod School in Llanrhymney. Kevin also has three years experience being involved in running a variety of music workshops with children and young people at the riverside warehouse.

The Resource and Collections Officer has 10 years experience working in a variety of roles at Re-Create. He is currently involved with the Scrapstop service, supplying schools in the Vale of Glamorgan with scrap materials for play. The Resource Officer also has the duty of sourcing suitable scrap resources from local companies and across south Wales, often diverting the materials from landfill. The scrap is then collected, sorted and stored within the Re-Create warehouse. It is also the Resource Officers responsibility to liaise with Scrapstores all around the UK to arrange swaps of scrap resources and keep the resources that are on offer at Re-Create interesting and diverse.

Finance Officer

The Finance Officer has over 25 years experience working in a wide
range of settings, from the hospitality industry to the charity sector.  The Finance Officer has also 10 years experience working in an accountancy firm producing accounts for a wide range of companies. 

The Finance Officers main responsibilities are to maintain the
organisations financial records, this includes the paying of invoices, recording income and expenditure, reconciling bank statements, maintaining the payroll, completing VAT returns, producing year end balances and reconciliation for the accountant and completing the financial sections of funding reports.
