Membership
Why become a member?
The main reasons are to save money and gain access to exciting, plentiful, unusual materials. We estimate that on average each member group saves about £250 a year through membership of Re-Create. Last year we had over 4000 members which means that the community at large saved over £500,000. Save the planet and save money! People have become used to paying a premium to be green. An environmentally friendly label invariably means coughing up a little extra cash (take organic veg for instance). BUT here at Re-Create we buck that trend- you pay far less. Re-Create was not set up only to help save the environment though, the original management committee was made up of people involved in delivering services to children and young people and their main motive was to cut costs for their own projects. We exist to save money for members. This aim happily coincides with being green.
How much does it cost?
It only costs you £1 extra on top of your shopping each time you visit. In 2004 we dramatically reduced our membership fees and so now, whether you are a large school or an individual, it will only cost you £1 per visit.
How to become a member:
Simply fill out a form when you visit the Scrapstore. The memberships are valid for 10 years.
